OnePlus 3 release date
One of the founders of OnePlus, Carl Pei, stated that it’s probably going to launch by the end of the Second Quarter (Q2).
It looks like we might not have long to wait for the OnePlus 3. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has revealed that it’s likely to launch near the end of Q2 2016, which means we should have it by late June.
If not before. GizmoChina heard that it may release between May 18 and May 28. That was fast, though OnePlus has missed deadlines before.
Availability may be an issue, as OnePlus is still a relatively small company and may not have the supply chain necessary to get one to everyone who wants one.
OnePlus 3 specs
A few OnePlus 3 benchmarks reveal the possible specs of the phone. Recently two different ones have appeared, pointing to either 4GB or a massive 6GB of RAM. Maybe there will be more than one version?
These benchmarks also reveal the OnePlus 3 will have a Snapdragon 820 processor, a 5-inch 1080p screen, 64GB of storage, Android Marshmallow, a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing one.
It looks like it will be somewhat competitive with the likes of Samsung and Apple in terms of specs, but at a significantly lower price point. It will be interesting to see if the smaller company can get the sales necessary to survive.
We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
