The industry was under the impression the iPhone 5se, the four-inch screen alternative to the iPhone 6, would come with an A8 processor. Turns out we were wrong. It’s coming with the significantly more powerful A9.
As reported by 9to5Mac there are prototypes that carry the older chips, but for the global release it’s A9 all the way.
Most sources agree that the new device lineup will be announced and brought to the market in March, most likely with an Apple Watch 2. Looking forward to updates on that.
9to5Mac’s sources state that the iPhone 5se will replace the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in Apple’s device line-up. That’s likely to mean the 2016 Fall offerings will be the iPhone 5se, the iPhone 6s, and the 6s Plus. We don’t know for sure yet, but odds are there will be an iPhone 7 in the mix…unless Apple surprises us by not being utterly predictable. Ha!
